Slacking on Posting

In Daily Life, Inside My Head, Random, Special Events on December 27, 2008 at 10:58 PM

Oh jeez! I’ve been slacking on posting what I’ve been doing. Everything I get home, I’m always so tired that I don’t really want to do anything tedious. I usually get home around midnight, then I just go on the computer to either chat or YouTube. I only do late night postings in San Diego ;] Hm.. what have I been doing? Let me try to remember …

Christmas: Before & After

What did I do for Christmas Eve? Hmm .. I left the house at around 4PM to go to the pier with Betty, Angela, Shirley, Jeffrey, and Sabrina. Man! It was raining pretty hard that day. While walking to Pier 39, we passed by Starbucks and saw Edward taking out the trash. Since we were there, we decided to go visit him, but he went to the “back” to do something. He never came out so … we left. Haha. Once we got to the pier, we just went to look at the bay for a bit, then the sea lions. Surprisingly, there were still some out in the open and were “arf-arf-ing”. Someone was hungry, so we decided to go to In-N-Out. We got our food, then Edward came to meet us up. Since I had to go to a White Elephant thing at Jordan’s house, I just got an In-N-Out gift card, then we all left to go take the bus. I rushed to the BART station, then took the BART to Balboa Park where Joey picked me up. He gave me a ride to Jordan’s, then we just chilled, played White Elephant (I got a fleece blanket :) ), then watched “Bucket List”. It was still good the second time I watched it. Home after that. Nothing big.

For Christmas, I left the house at around 10AM to meet up Betty, Sabrina, Angela, and Jeffrey to watch “Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons“. That movie was pretty good, but not as good as I expected. It was a pretty hilarious too, which I didn’t expect. After watching Benjamin Buttons, we went to watch “Valkyrie“. I actually had high hopes for the movie, but it wasn’t as good as I expected. Eh. None of the movies met up to my expectations! They didn’t suck though, which was fine .. I guess. Haha. After that, Betty and I left to go eat while Jeffrey, Sabrina, and Angela went to watch “Yes Man”. We met up Edward at his house to go to Boudins to have some clam chowder in a bowl. Man, it was pretty darn good. Outside eating + fire place + clam chowder in a bowl = some friggin’ good clam chowder in a bowl experience. After .. we went to 7-11 to get some stuff. Then .. went to Edward’s to wash my hands and use the bathroom. After, we left to go home. I had dinner with my family + grandpa & grandma, then went back out at around 11PM to go to Embarcadero with Edward, Anthony, Sabrina, Kenny, Betty, and Angela. We went to 7-11 again to grab some food, then went to the Hyatt to chill. After the Hyatt, we decided to go to Sabrina’s to SingStar for a bit. Turns out a bit became 3 hours. We left her house at around 4AM-ish?

December 26th

Woke up at Edward’s. Then used the computer for a bit. I woke Edward’s lazy butt up to go eat. Went to Pacific Court at around 2PM. An Duc and Seward came a bit after. Edward decided to go get a haircut. The rest of us went to Pier 39 to chill. Saw some crazy breakdancing people there. Edward came a little later becacuse his aunt’s place was crowded. After we chilled there, we went to Chinatown. Seward went to D&A, which is now called Broadway Cafe, to eat. An Duc went home. Edward and I went to Macy’s to check out some stuff. After Downtown, which was around 6PM, we went to CC to meet up Kenny, Seward, and An Duc. Played basketball until 10PM. Went to Broadway Cafe to have a little snack, then went home.

December 27th (Today)

Betty texted me late last night at around 4AM to go ice skating, but I didn’t see it until like 11AM. Met up Betty at around 2PM at the Embarcadero, but we couldn’t ice skate because of some ” ‘unforseen’ complications”. Haha :) . We then walked around the Embarcadero for a bit, then decided to walk to Ma’s Dim Sum. Ate at Ma’s, then went to Quickly to grab a drink. Went to Woh Hei to chill for a bit, then went to Downtown to take the L to go to Sunset to Karaoke. Met up Karen, Linda, Angela, Annie, Jeffrey, Devin, Anthony, Kevin, Kenny, and Sabrina at the Karaoke place. We karaoked for around 2 hours, then went to KFC for a bit. After that, took the L back to Downtown, where Linda & I went home. Now I’m here! Oh jeez! So much that I wrote. I guess I’m done for today.

Secret Santa: Before & After

In Daily Life, Special Events on December 24, 2008 at 12:49 AM

Another winter break is another year of Secret Santa! Okay, lets see.. Secret Santa was on December 22nd. I woke up that day and watched an episode of House on SideReel. I randomly went onto SideReel and clicked on an episode of House to try it out. After that one episode named “Last Resort”, I got hooked. After that one episode, I got dressed and went to Downtown. I had to get a scarf for my Secret Santa, then wrap the presents up. I got wrapping paper from Walgreens, which costed $1.99. I don’t know if that’s cheap or not, but I bought it anyways. The fifth floor of Westfield isn’t the ideal place for someone to be wrapping presents. After that, I decided that I wanted to go eat at Ma’s, so I walked over to the bus stop. I ran into Jenny and Edward (Actually.. they ran into me). Those punks tried to rob my Secret Santa present! Haha. Anyways, I took the bus to Quickly to buy a quick drink, then went to Ma’s. Ordered myself some curry chicken over rice for old times sake. Ate and ate, then started drinking tea. After a while, Jennifer called me while I just about done eating. We chatted on the phone while I was drinking tea for like 30 minutes, then I went to CES at like 4:15PM. Seward, Karen, Kenny, and Kevin were already there wrapping their presents and/or dropping it off. We just chilled there while waiting for everyone else to come. After most of the people arrived, we went to Metreon to watch “Seven Pounds” at 7:15PM. We got there at around 6:00PM so we went to the arcade to play around a bit. When it was almost time, we went into the movie theater. Oh man .. I thought this movie sucked in the first 30 minutes, but it got good and stayed there. What a great movie! After the movie, we went to Chinatown to grab some dinner. Some went to Sam’s Burger, some went to D & A. I got me some scrambled eggs with BBQ pork over rice. After everyone got their dinner, we went over to CES to eat and just socialize. My scrambled eggs were so salty that it made me need to constantly drink water while eating it. Stupid eggs! After everyone was done, we went on to open the presents. That took around an hour and a half.

” Who could this present be by?
To: Edward Young
From: Sabrina Pan”

Yay for secretive-ness!

After the present opening, we cleaned up the place and started taking pictures outside after we closed CES. Some went home after while most went to Edward’s to hang. Some played King’s Cup downstairs while others were upstairs playing Dueces and Gin. After a while, we started playing the “reflex” game or whatever, which turned into free-for-all-spike-the-ball-in-your-face game. Haha. We got some laughs out of it. Everyone went to sleep at around 4:30AM. Jeez! I couldn’t sleep at all! Everyone woke up at around 11AM and I only had around an hour and a half of sleep. Boo! People were hungry so we decided to eat Pho. Got to the Pho place at around 1:45PM, ate, then some went to the Y while others went to CC. Played basketball until like 6, then everyone went home. I went to Betty’s place with Betty. Kevin and Angela were already there watching Titanic. Oh man… that movie is the bomb. I watched it like 10 times. Haha. After that, Kevin, Betty, and I just watched Family Guy on TV. Kevin and I got hungry so we decided to go to Carl’s Junior at around 9:00 PM. Ate, ate, ate … then we went home.

“Fob” Hair

In Daily Life, Inside My Head, Random, Uncategorized on December 19, 2008 at 2:15 AM

Since I came back to San Francisco, people made fun of my long hair. I was too cheap to cut it in San Diego, so I left it growing freely. After a while, the hair on the top of my head would not stay up for more than an hour after being blowdryed up. It would slowly droop down until my hair looks like Super Saiyan hair. I call it Super Saiyan hair, but some people call it fob hair, wanna-be fob hair, bush, or even Dustin hair. Dustin hair? Really? Maybe guys coming back from San Diego have similar hairstyles. Haha. Well, I cut my Super Saiyan hair today in Chinatown. They cut it so fast that it seemed like they took only 5 minutes. They put on the flip, shaved the top of my head, then shaved the sides, then cut the rest. That was probably the fastest hair cut I’ve ever had in my life. It might be one of the best I had too. Too bad .. it looks like An Duc hair now. Ew.

Just kidding.

San Francisco: Day 1

In Daily Life on December 14, 2008 at 1:32 AM

My first sleep back in San Francisco was not good. I could barely sleep because my pillow was as hard as a rock. I don’t know what happened. I was used to it before I left for San Diego. I also had the weirdest dream when I was like half asleep the whole night. I actually remembered it when I woke up too! But anyways, I woke up at ten thirty, expecting Linda to come over because she said she would. Instead, I met her up at the BART station. Oh .. the how I missed the BART. We took the BART to Downtown to look for presents and just chat. I totally missed hanging out with Linda. Haha. After like two hours of being at Downtown, we went to Chinatown to grab some Quickly and ate at Kam Po. Mmmm! Cha Seew (Barbaque Pork) Rice! My favorite! I savored every bite of that rice plate. Haha. After I finished my food, Karen came. We then walked Linda to Sushi Rock to eat lunch because it was Jenny’s birthday. Karen and I then headed to Downtown to finish looking for presents. Oh how I missed hanging with Karen! We walked around and eventually ended up at Border’s, where we met everyone: Kenny, Seward, Angela, Betty, Sabrina, Annie, An Duc, Anthony, Devin, Jeffrey. I don’t know if I missed anyone. But anyways .. we then walked over to the 38 busstop to take the bus to Richmond to eat for Kristina’s birthday thing. We ate Thai food, then went to Kowloon to eat dessert. Yummm haha. After that, we loitered outside some apartment so she could open her presents and just hang. Then .. we took the 1 bus and I went home. They went to Sabrina’s. What a busy day, huh?

Turned It Up

In Daily Life, Inside My Head, Music on December 11, 2008 at 10:22 PM

I finally bought speakers from the UCSD bookstore for my computer. I’ve been getting bored of my built-in laptop speakers. It sounds so terrible; I can’t enjoy my music. Once I bought it, I quickly boarded back to my place and installed it. I plugged this here, and that there, and turned those two knobs all the way up and then BAM! The place had an earthquake :) Oh yeah .. I totally forgot my apartment-mates were still sleeping, but … they didn’t get out of their room so I assumed they didn’t wake up from it. Anyways, I’m studying for my last final with an bumpin’ music. How do you like my study habit?

Pfft. Whatever :)

Finals Week: Study Lockdown

In Daily Life, Inside My Head, Special Events on December 7, 2008 at 6:02 PM

I’m at Price Center East right now. Oh man! I need a break from all this studying I’ve been doing since Thursday. I think it’s safe to say that I’m on study lockdown. I’ve been studying for my Math20B (calculus 2) final since Thursday afternoon until now. I hate locking myself in a room, or sitting on a chair for long hours, but it must be done. Working over math equations and remembering formulas is no fun for the weekend. Now I understand what all the fuss was about when people said finals week is crazy. Back in high school, finals was nothing! I don’t need to study. I could just wing it and still get an A. Now, it’s either study or fail. I’m kinda struggling with my grade in Math20B right now. It’s not that I don’t know my material; It’s because I forget things during the test because of nervousness. By being nervous, I make careless mistakes and I get points taken off. If I final my math final, I won’t be able to go to Math20C next quarter! :( Please let me pass.

I’m currently studying for DOC right now. Ever since week 4, I’ve been slacking in this class and have been getting low grades. I think I’ll come out of this class getting a C+ at most. I hope the final isn’t hard …

Later on tonight, I’ll be taking a sample final that I could print out from my professor’s website. If I’m able to do that test ease, I think I’m ready for the final tomorrow. (My stupid final is at 8AM! 30 minutes after my math final is my DOC final. :( ) If I still have problems … I guess I have to put in a few more hours of studying.

Thursday: Math studying: 4 hours
Friday: Math studying: 7 hours
Saturday: Math studying: 12-13 hours
Sunday: DOC studying: 3 hours
Math studying: predicting 4 hours

Estimated total time: 30-31 hours (Math: 27 hours DOC: 3 hours)

If I fail, I’m gonna cry. (Or I could just jump off Geisel Library. Haha. Just kidding. Not Funny.)

Korean BBQ

In Daily Life, Inside My Head, Music on November 13, 2008 at 1:46 AM

Mmm! Who would’ve thought Korean BBq was gonna be so good! What is it? I’d say its similar to hotpotting with the grill right below the hotpot… but without the hotpot. Haha. Basically, you have a BBQ grill in the middle, and you toss raw meat on there to cook. It’s so good! Some of the meat tasted like Vietnamese pork. I was like “Whoa!? Isn’t this Korean BBQ?! Why does it taste Vietnamese?” Anyways, I totally raided that place with my black hole-like stomach. They totally found a good way to scam me to eat vegetables. They had me WRAP my meat with the lettuce they gave us. To my surprise, it tasted pretty good! I had veggies all night! (See? I do eat veggies once in a while!)

It looks a little like this. It’s not an actual picture though.

Three Day Post

In Daily Life, Inside My Head, Special Events on November 4, 2008 at 11:25 PM

My blog sure is gathering dust. I’ve had so much to do these days that even when I want to update my blog, I forget to or I don’t have time to. Let’s get down to blogging. What did I do for the past few days?

Halloween

For Halloween, Betty, Angela, Seward, Vinson Chen, and I signed up for this thing for MASA called “The Mystery Bus”. You buy the tickets for 26 bucks each, then they take you on this bus for 12 hours going to different places. Of course, they won’t tell you where you’re going. That’s why its a mystery. Haha. Well, I’ll unconver the mystery.

First stop: Haunted Trails

Dude! I have never been so scared in my life! Haunted trails is where they set up sets around the park, then you walk around the trail going to different sets. They got sets from “The Strangers” movie, “Halloween” movie, and just scary sets. The zombies on the bus was the scariest! We had to walk through this broken down school bus with zombies scattered around sitting on the seats with their heads down. You wouldn’t know which one would pop up to scare you. There were other scary ones too, but I thought the bus was the scariest. The also scare you on the path to other sets too. The scary thing is they also follow you. If you run, they chase after you. Jeez!

Next Stop: Laser Tag 15vs15

This was where my Boomer’s Lazer Tag skills came into use. This laser tag arena was so cool! They had 2 levels so you can shoot people below. You can capture bases, kill aliens, and everything. They also print out your stats sheet and rank you out of all the players to see who did well. Rank 3! Best ranked in my team. :) There were three teams by the way.

After Laser tag: Beach

Nothing special. We just went to the beach at night to play some games and tell some ghost stories. The hotel near the beach was apparently haunted. :X

After that: Bowling

Bowling again. Nothing new. I got a score of 111, darn it! I forgot how to spin the ball, so I had to bowl straight the whole time. How lame. Oh well, it was still fun. :)

Cha-Ching! Casino!

Yup. That day was the first time I went to the casino and tried out gambling. Never play the slot machines if you don’t know what you’re getting yourself into! I lost five dollars in less than a minute. Actually, me and Seward both did. Gambling sucks! Should’ve played Blackjack.

Final Stop: Some hill

The final stop was a stop on a hill that had a really nice view. We sat there to watch the sunrise and eat breakfast, which was bagel and orange juice.

The mystery bus was the bomb while it lasted. After we got driven back to UCSD, we all went back to our place and knocked out. I got back to my place at 9:00, then totally knocked out until 1PM.

November 1st: Cooking Day

After waking up, I went to eat with Seward and Angela at Canyon Vista, their dining hall. We ate there for a little over an hour, then decided to go to Tilly’s to check out their buy something and get something else 50% off. Angela bought two new pair of Vans. While walking back, we decided to cook dinner that night, so we decided to go to Ralph’s (I guess it’s like a SoCal version of Safeway). We bought Buy-1-Get-1-Free Raw Chicken Tender meat, Oil, 20lb of Rice, 2 Mongolian Beef Seasoning, Broccoli, and onion. Obviously, we were gonna eat chinese that night. Cooking was pretty darn fun. Too bad it was $50 and there were so many dishes to do at the end. Check out Betty’s facebook for the pictures.

Election Day

First time voting was pretty cool. I felt stupid not knowing where to go because all the booths looked taken so I was like, “Where do I go again?” Haha. I’ll just let a picture sum it up.

P.S. If you want to know how the haunted trail is like, click here. Then, click on haunted hotel. Then click on Video on the bottom left. The haunted trail is like that,  but on a trail.

Stussy & Pool

In Daily Life, Inside My Head, Special Events on October 19, 2008 at 3:09 AM

The Stussy sale came today to Library Walk. I went over to Library Walk around 9:30 simply to get some Panda Express, but I already saw a line for the sale. What the? Do people not sleep in on Saturdays? I obviously have an excuse; I was hungry. People actually wake up early and line up for this? I knew what I had to do. Forget breakfast! I just went to line up with the rest of the people. Getting in was pretty quick. All I had to do was tell them I wear XL (which I don’t), and they let me cut everyone. I stayed there for about four hours because I had to wait for Angela and Betty, then line up to pay for the stuff I wanted to buy. I kept finding tee’s that I liked, but I didn’t want to spend so much money, so I had to nail down to four tee’s. The clothes there were cheap; jackets for 40; pants for 25; tee’s for 10; hoodies for 25.

Stussy

Stussy

We had nothing to do on such a nice Saturday, so we decided to play pool. Seward, Angela, and I played for a total of five hours. By the end of this year, I swear, we’re gonna be pro at pool. Pool is so much fun. I never thought a long stick and balls would make time fly by so fast. We started at around 4:30, then we ended at 9:45. I think we’re gonna make the pool room our new hangout spot. :)

Bang!

In Daily Life, Inside My Head, Music, Special Events on October 18, 2008 at 1:45 AM

Bang! I thought I would never see that game again! I miss ‘06 and ‘07 summer, where we would play “Bang!” and “Liar’s Dice” in Daycamp until like 7PM. Man, I wish Gordon was here. He’s the only person that can challenge me in a battle of wits during “Liar’s Dice”. Bang was also a crazy fun game. Dustin brought it to church to let us play, then we totally got hooked!

Bang! is a card game where everyone is a character, and a specific role. You’re either an outlaw, renegade, deputy, or sheriff. The outlaw’s objective is to kill the sheriff. The renegade’s objective is to kill everybody. The deputy’s objective is to protect the sheriff, and the sheriff’s objective is to eliminate all renegades and outlaws. This game is fun because you only know who the sheriff is. You have to try to figure out who is who. This game really makes me laugh. :)

I would explain what “Liar’s Dice” is, but its really hard to explain. It’s a game where you try to out-think everyone, and try to think more steps ahead. I don’t think much people here would like to play that. Maybe Seward would.

Why did I talk about “Bang!”? I went to MASA’s potluck today with Angela, Seward, Vinson, Nathan, and Betty. While I was eating, I spotted Bang! I was like, “Oh no they did not just have bang here”. Instantly, I was trying to gather people to play. Man! It was so hard explaining how to play to people. It was still fun to play. Lots of laughs and lots of yelling. I wish I was back at chuch, playing Bang with everyone else that played back then. :(

Hancock

In Daily Life, Inside My Head, Music on October 15, 2008 at 12:26 PM

We went to watch Hancock yesterday at the Price Center Theatre. I thought it was going to be some stupid superhero movie, but in the back of my head, I was like “No way… It’s Will Smith!” I knew my homeboy Will Smith wouldn’t let me down. If you haven’t watched it yet, you better check it out. It totally blew my mind because of how the story was. I was like “Whoaaa!” Haha. If I was to rate this movie…

Story: A-
Acting: B+
Visuals: B (The special effects looked pretty fake)
For more info, “ch3ck it” here! (Get it? check it.. ch3– ah nevermind)

I haven’t really posted up any new music. I got so much! Most of it is from Akon, so for all of you that love him, this has got to be the best post for you.

Enjoy! :)

Sick!

In Daily Life, Inside My Head on October 13, 2008 at 7:57 PM

Who would’ve thought that I would catch a cold in San Diego? I went to the movies with Angela and Betty with a tee on because it was hot. Once I got into the theatre, it was all cold and breezy. I thought I could handle it, but when I got out, it was soooo cold. I walked around like that for a bit, then everything started turning bad. I started getting a headache, then a runny nose, then stuffed ears. During that night, I couldn’t even sleep. I had an 8 o clock class the next day! Boo! Well anyways! Here’s a really interesting article I found on ShortNews.

Wong Fu @ UCSD

In Daily Life on October 12, 2008 at 1:58 AM

Wong Fu Productions came to UCSD! Sucks for you, Annie. :) They came to speak about their videos and their history. It was kind of cool that they met each other their third year in media class or something. They just shot with regular cameras before they went all big and stuff. Far East Movement also came and spoke. They showed their video “Dance Like Michael Jackson”. That song isn’t really that good, but their dancing there was. I also liked the tee’s they were wearing.

If you guys don’t know what Wong Fu is, go YouTube them up. Maybe you’ve heard of their “Nice Guy” videos, or their other shorts. Here’s a short: If I Could Date A Burrito

MASA

In Daily Life on October 9, 2008 at 12:28 AM

Today was MASA(Multi-Asian Student Association) for their first GBM(General Body Meeting). They showed a slideshow, and then some short videos that they made. The videos were really cool and funny. They did like a 300 spoof, then like a Star Wars spoof. They even have their own dance group called KunFusion. Best thing is that you don’t even need to have dancing experience. After the meeting, we went to Convoy to Tapioca Express. It’s about time I got to Convoy! I haven’t had milk tea with tapioca for the longest time. The people there are really friendly. I got to meet a bunch of people. Talking to them in a group makes me feel like I’m back at home. They also talk about weird things. The ride back was pretty fun too. We were telling ghost stories while going back to UCSD. MASA seems like a really fun group. It reminds me of back home. :)

Here’s some of their cool videos.

Homework Session

In Daily Life on October 5, 2008 at 12:43 AM

What an odd decision made by Angela. There was a Stunna Shades Dance going on today at “The Loft”, so Angela wanted to get her homework done before she went. Angela, Betty, and I got back from Fashion Valley Mall at around six, and the dance started at 9, so she wanted to get her homework done quick. She was gonna go to Geisel Library to do her homework. Betty and I had nothing to do, so we decided to go with her. After everyone went back to their dorm/apartment to get their stuff, I decided to check the library times. Turns out that the Geisel Library closes at 6 pm during weekends, so we decided to go to Price Center. In Price Center, theres theses little study rooms enough for about five or six people to study together, so we decided to use one. After three hours of being in there, we decided to go. Doing homework in a group isn’t that bad; it’s actually pretty fun. You can give or receive help. It’s much easier than asking for help on AIM or something. Although I didn’t get to finish my homework because I redid my stupid essay, I still got things done.

Lupe Fiasco @ RIMAC Arena

In Daily Life, Music, Special Events on October 4, 2008 at 2:07 AM

Fall Fest was pretty crazy! The first flyer I saw when I arrived to UCSD was the Fall Fest 2008 flyer with the words “Lupe Fiasco” in large print. After reading it, I quickly told Angela, who got interested right away. Today, Angela and I were late to line up, so we had Betty line up for us. Once we reached there, the line was so full that we climbed over the rails to stay with the group. There were three groups playing: We Are Lions, Ben Kweller, and Lupe Fiasco. I thought they were all really good, but some audiences wanted them to hurry up and finish so Lupe would go on faster. I wouldn’t mind listening to one or two more of their songs then, but they finished off with around five-six songs each. Once Lupe got on, everyone started screaming. Of course, he sang his famous songs, “Hip Hop Saved My Life”, “Superstar”, and “Kick, Push”. I barely knew the other ones, but some were also good. He had loads of energy just moving around and dancing on stage. I don’t think there was a second where his dancing/singing looked like he was stabbing someone or beating someone. I’m sure it takes loads of energy to be able to dance like that for around three hours on stage. His energy made the concert so much better than if he was just rapping while walking left and right across the stage.

He gave a really inspiring speech about us making changes and voting. He said it doesn’t really matter who we vote for. The most important vote is to vote for ourselves. We have to wake up from our sleep and start being active leaders.

Since I was at a concert, here’s a song I got from there. The song is called Daydreamin’.

Grade for Fall Fest? Look one line down.

Fall Fest 2008: A-/B+

Nice Guy

In Daily Life, Inside My Head, Uncategorized on October 2, 2008 at 8:38 PM

I couldn’t go to MASA’s Pho event today because I had a stupid discussion at 6PM. How useless! I didn’t even need to go. Everyone’s asking stupid questions on easy problems, and I stayed just to take detailed notes for future references. I got out of the stupid lecture at 7PM, then went back to my apartment. As usual, no ones home. Some roommates are out at a concert. Another is hanging out with his korean friends. Betty and them are out at Pho. Whatever.

I was just surfing the web when I was curious about what updates Wong Fu had since the last time I checked them out. That was like half a year ago. They didn’t really have much new stuff, so I decided to view the thing that made me start to like them, the “Just a Nice Guy” shorts. It’s about a guy named Nick that is a “NG”. (Nice Guy). He likes this girl, but he doesn’t want to te– just watch it for yourself! For me, after watching it again, I came to a conclusion that I still love it! It’s so cool. For some reason, a lot of people from UCSD don’t know who Wong Fu is. I was like “What?! Why’d you come to this school for?!” Haha.

This Is Why I’m Hot

In Daily Life, Inside My Head, Music on October 1, 2008 at 7:30 PM

Dude! What’s wrong with stupid San Diego? After class, at around 11AM, the Yahoo! Weather said it was 92F degrees in La Jolla. (Yes, UCSD is not actually in SD; it’s in friggin’ La Jolla) Why is it so hot?! I thought summer was over already! Apparently not. While I was walking back to my apartment, my neck started feeling like it was being fried. I must’ve been out, starting from getting out of class to going back to my apartment, for a total of probably 5 minutes at max. Once I got back, I quickly switched from my black jeans to gray thin shorts. Oh gosh, I gotta get used to this SD weather.

So .. Eagle Eye was the bomb! I’m just gonna summarize it real quick. It’s about this dude and this gal runnin’ around, takin’ orders from this computerized voice. They either obey or bad stuff happens. Bam Bam Boom Boom! Fast forward. The end. In conclusion, the movie was really good. It’s a must watch for sure.

I haven’t posted up a song here for quite some time, so here’s a song I listened to a long time ago but fell in love with again.

Very good lyrics. Listen.

College Life

In Daily Life, Inside My Head on September 30, 2008 at 1:09 AM

College life is totally different from high school. I could just roll out of bed, get dressed, and walk to class. It takes a lot of discipline to just wake up and tell yourself to get ready before you’re late. I would go to the lecture hall around 15-25 minutes early to get a good seat in the lecture hall. No one likes a seat all the way in the corner super far away from the professor. Also, people are really serious about homework and study here. Well … maybe only in UCSD. On the weekdays, you see lots of people walk around after class around 6PM, just hanging out doing whatever. Once it hits Friday, the whole campus is like a ghost town. I would assume that most of them are off campus somewhere having fun on a Friday night, but they’re actually in their dorms starting their homework already. Walking around people’s suites, most people are either on their bed reading their textbook, or on their table doing homework. Saturday and Sunday are no exceptions. I guess us San Francisco kids aren’t really that crazy on homework.

I had two classes and one discussion today. Calculus at 8AM in the morning is always a drag. I woke up at 7AM to get ready, then walked to my class. After class, I went to Oceanview Terrace to eat breakfast, then to Oceanview Lounge to turn in my form. I went back to my apartment to do some DOC reading that I didn’t do. I read about 20 something pages when Betty called me to go eat. I’m always hungry, so I went. We went to Oceanview Terrace again to eat. Betty had to go to Price Center to get money for her minifridge, so we walked to Price Center for her to use the ATM. Seward was going to meet her up, so I went to my next class. DOC is always boring. Today, they were arguing with the professor about different kinds of discrimination. After class, I went to meet up Angela to eat again. Went to bookstore to buy my book, then Angela walked me to my discussion. I waited for my discussion to start while Angela waited for Betty to get out of class at the same building. Discussion sucks. After discussion, Diana and I went to Angela’s to meet them up to watch movie. At around 6, they went to Canyon Vista to eat. I went to drop off my stuff at my apartment. We got to the theatre at around 7, just in time for Eagle Eye. It was so sick! Maybe I’ll talk about it in the next post. After Eagle Eye, we went to watch Lakeview Terrace. That movie was alright. Samuel L. Jackson made a really good bad guy. He was pretty creepy too. Got out of the theatre at around 12:05AM, then back to campus at around 12:35AM. I got back to my place at 12:55AM, so I’m good. Haha. I don’t know about Angela, Betty, or Diana though. :|

Blair Witch Project

In Daily Life, Inside My Head on September 16, 2008 at 11:37 AM

Another day, another movie watched at Angela and Betty’s house. This time, we watched the “Blair Witch Project”. I heard people say that after watching this movie, you never want to go camping again. I didn’t really take what they said seriously because honestly, what can this movie possibly have that will make you not want to camp anymore? I didn’t even know what I was getting myself into when I decided to watch it. Even though I was asleep for the first half of the movie, it still spooked me. I can see why people said they got scared of camping after watching this. This movie was kind of weird though. It has no parts that made me jump, but it still spooked me. It’s one of those movies where you watch it and you’ll get chills. This movie is a must watch before/during camping!

Blair Witch Project

Blair Witch Project

Three film students travel to Maryland to make a student film about a local urban legend… The Blair Witch. The three went into the woods on a two day hike to find the Blair Witch, and never came back. One year later, the students film and video was found in the woods. The footage was compiled and made into a movie. The Blair Witch Project.

After watching the movie, we decided to mess with the Ouija board. Oooooh. I guess we weren’t done with scary stuff. At around midnight, Kenny picks up the Ouija board and decides he wants to play. After much debating from Betty about not wanting to be haunted, we all decided to go outside to the hill on Jones and Vallejo(?) to play. It was so darn cold outside. We asked the board various questions, but the planchette wouldn’t move. I guess it didn’t really work. The planchette did move a little bit (like 1 cm), but it could’ve been the players’ hands were cold, the wind, their laps, or pressing the planchette too hard. So much for talking to “spirits”. Haha.

Horseback Riding

In Daily Life on September 14, 2008 at 1:12 AM

I never knew they had a stable for horseback riding in Daly City until about a week ago. What a perfect present for someone that’s been dying to go horseback riding! Me and Betty went there for her birthday today. It was my present to her obviously. It was a broken down looking barn/stable, but I guess that’s how it is for all barns and stables. The person that greeted us was pretty nice. He assigned us the horses and wrangler to us. My horse was named Scarface! Oooooh! Scary! Haha. Betty’s horse was named Cheyenne. Going down the mountain was pretty scary. I kept imagining my horse slipping, then tumbling down the mountain, which made it worse. My horse was soooo slow! I kept kicking him like I was supposed to, but it just wouldn’t move faster. Good thing this nice lady behind me helped. After we got down the mountain, we were on the beach. That was the best part of the ride because we got to see dolphins and ride on flat ground. Finally, my horse was 2nd or 3rd out of four horses! After the beach ride, we turned around and went back up the mountain, which was a lot better because I didn’t look down. The whole ride took a little over and hour, and was pretty fun. (And scary) I’ll post a picture when Betty uploads ‘em on Facebook or something. :) Here’s some stock pictures I found on the internet.

Burn After Reading

In Daily Life, Inside My Head on September 10, 2008 at 11:17 PM

So my friends and I went to a screening of “Burn After Reading” today. After an hour and a half, I came out of the theater thinking, “What the hell?”. This has got to be the weirdest, funkiest, not-making-sense movie I have ever watched. The movie had a few laughs here and there. Brad Pitt also gets punched in the nose, which is quite hilarious to watch. This has got to be his worse role in his career though.

Nose Bleed for Brad

Nose Bleed for Brad

This movie made no sense at all. When the movie started, it showed two characters. Then two more came, and another came, and anoth– what the hell?! I couldn’t even follow who was who, and what was going on! I started picking it up when it got close to an hour. Clever funny? Maybe a little. Stupid funny? Quite a bit.

I highly do not recommend you to watch this movie if you expect something out of it. Only watch it if you have money to throw away.

Saw I

In Daily Life, Inside My Head on September 9, 2008 at 7:53 AM

Well I got home an hour after midnight because I watched Saw I at Angela & Betty’s house today. Although I did watch Saw III, this was my first time watching Saw I. Tomorrow might be Saw II, which I’m hoping that we would watch earlier. In my opinion, Saw III was better than Saw I. I’m not gonna spoil it for those of you that haven’t watched it yet, but I thought Saw III was much “smarter” and gory than Saw I. Jigsaw looked even looked better in Saw III than Saw I! I’m still amazed at how the movie producers could think of so much sick games and possible scenarios for the movie. If Jigsaw was real, you have to be a really deep, sick, disgusting thinker and be able to “think ahead” like twenty thousand steps of how the victim will think in order to create those games. I wish I had a mind like that. :)

P.S. The part where Adam beat the crap out of the toy Jigsaw was priceless.

Chris B. – Flying Solo & Erased

Haven’t posted music for awhile. I’m pretty sure whoever is reading this has these songs, but just in case, here you go!

Chris Brown – Flying Solo

Chris Brown – Erased

Since I’m posting already, I might as well write something. This past week was pretty annoying. I had to work at Jean Parker and look after, tutor, and teach kids. I don’t mind doing those things, but with bad kids, it kinda sucks the fun out of it. I’m not supposed to be yelling or talking too much with stitches in my mouth, but I have to in order to get the kids’ attention. I always look forward to work ending. I’m always starving. Angela and I would go eat, then go somewhere to meet everyone else to hang out. In short, 2-6PM = sucks.

I-Hate-Wisdom-Teeth

In Daily Life on August 31, 2008 at 3:44 AM

So I did it. I finally got my wisdom teeth extracted. The surgery wasn’t as bad as I thought. There was close to no pain. Only pain that I felt was the 3 shots that I took to numb my teeth. After the surgery, my lips felt like jello. Man it was so fun to poke it. Haha. Too bad the fun came to an end when it wore off. After it wore off, I felt like crap. The swelling started and it felt like a strong subwoofer was in my mouth pounding away. I had a headache that I don’t even know where I got it from. I can’t swallow because it would hurt my head and mouth. My painkillers made me feel like I wanted to throw up every time I moved. The ooze coming from the wound made me can’t sleep because if I don’t swallow, it would seep into my throat and make me choke. That crap lasted for 6 hours. Then somehow, I fell asleep. After I woke up, I felt much better.

I’m at home right now. It’s 8:45PM. In the morning, I woke up. I finally ate something since 10AM yesterday. Too bad it was only jook. Watched a movie, went into my room, watched TV, went to sleep cause I felt like throwing up again, woke up, made clam chowder, ate it while watching food network, fell asleep again because I felt sick, woke up watched Coach Carter, ate dinner. Now I’m here, updating this junk. I’m so craving hard food. When I can finally chew hard food without complications, I’m ordering a feast for myself. Steak, here I come!

Countdown Until “It” Happens / Updates

In Daily Life, Special Events on August 29, 2008 at 5:47 PM

Well, I’m just at home, counting down the hours before I have to take out my wisdom teeth. Man I’m scared. Oh well. I guess it needs to be done before I go off to college. I won’t be able to eat regular food for a couple of days. :[ I guess I'll take advantage of this boredom and update on what has happened.

Went to the wax museum this one day. I think it was Friday? We were walking around the Pier, then started loitering in front of the wax museum. Sabrina knew someone that worked there and she gave us free admissions in. How lucky, right? Thanks to Sabrina and her generous friend. :] We took tons of pictures in there. The Chamber of Horrors was the best.

We stay Patriotic. Right, Duckie?

We stay Patriotic. Right, Duckie?

After that day, I think we went to the bonfire. A lot of people showed up. I didn’t expect so many people to come. All in all, it was pretty fun. Our fire was pretty small but it was the experience that made it fun. We almost got kicked off but good thing we got Myrna and Eric.

After that day, I’ve only been hanging out for the next couple of days, doing whatever to pass the time.

On Wednesday, Betty and I went to the Aquarium and Aquatic Park. Every time I go there, I always find something different that I missed before. That day was pretty hot so Aquatic Park was boiling. Oh yeah! We also went to see the sea lions. There was this one fat one that kept sleeping even though other sea lions were barking and walking on top of him. Hilarious!

Yesterday, I kinda started work. After work, we went to Subway, then downtown to eat frozen yogurt at Icebee. I didn’t eat any, but their yogurts were expensive. After that, we went to Metreon to loiter. Once again, our loitering paid off. We got free admissions to “College”. The movie was pretty funny. I don’t think college would be as crazy as that though. The guys in the movie might actually exist in college, but the girls? I doubt the girls are that easy. I have a feeling I’ll be so bored at home after the wisdom teeth extraction that I’ll be updating daily. :[

Boomers & Summer

In Daily Life, Inside My Head, Special Events on August 22, 2008 at 8:14 AM

Summer’s been fun so far. Hangin’ out, retreat, dinners, and all the other planned trips. I like having fun and being able to forget all my worries. It’s like a natural high. Haha. Too bad that all those stuff requires money. No money, no fun.

Today, we went to Boomers. Man, it was so fun. We played Go-Karting, Bumper Boats, Lazer Tag, and Mini-Golf. Go Karting was fun; racing with everyone and all. Too bad some black dude bumped our (Betty and I) car while I was racing Seward and Angela. That totally gave them the lead after much hard work of blocking them off! I loved driving the doubles. :] Bumper boats was also fun. Squirting people and teaming up on them really made me laugh. I got so drenched, it wasn’t even funny. It dried up while playing mini golf though. Mini-golf was alright. It was fun when I did good. Too bad, towards the end, I got owned by Angela. I started getting sixes. Lazer tag was crazy! I was totally dominating. Haha. Running across the room and killing everyone without dying really doesn’t get old. :] I think everyone had fun. Everyone seemed to be enjoying everyone else’s company. We should do planned activities more often!

I Ran Over A Girl

In Daily Life, Inside My Head on July 17, 2008 at 6:54 AM

Okay, I didn’t really RUN over a girl. What I did do was run and shoulder a girl by accident! You see, what happened was that I got the pass and saw no one was guarding me on the basketball court except for one girl. I tried to fast break and saw her follow so I tried to move to my right. The result of me turning caused me to shoulder the girl right in the cheek, causing her to fall right over. Rewinding to the week before, a girl was trying to grab hold the ball while I was holding the ball. She tried to pull it towards her body, so in response of not wanting to touch her, I quickly let go of the ball. I don’t wanna do what Kenny did in this week’s game, do I? Haha. Well, bottom line is, I hate guarding girls! It’s such a dilemma. If I was not to do anything, that might mean free points for the other team. If I was to do something, it would just mean I’m picking on a girl. What to do?

Money On My Mind

In Daily Life, Inside My Head on June 26, 2008 at 7:08 AM

I’m trying to save money for whatever trip I’m gonna go for the senior trip some of “us” planned. Since Edward, An Duc, and Seward are going on the SUPER expensive Florida trip to Disney World, the rest of “us” have to plan somewhere cheaper to go. We’re thinking of possibly going to SoCal like Los Angeles or somewhere around that area. Well.. without money, I can’t go anywhere. In order to conserve money and save as much as I can, I’ve been cutting down on spending. Here’s what I’ve done so far to cut down on spending:

- Buy only “Baos” if I’m hungry
- Can’t buy food before 4PM. I could just bring food out or eat at home
- Can’t eat out for dinner more than twice a week
- One event spending per week
- Quickly only once a week
- No meals over seven dollars

The result of this plan is that I get so hungry that I feel like passing out sometimes. Well, not really. I just get hungry enough to feel the burn and feel tired. At that point, I’d eat anything so saving money wouldn’t be a problem at that time. So far, in about a week, I’ve saved around twenty something bucks. That’s pretty good, eh?

Daily Life Section.

These past few days, I always watch a movie first before I leave the house. During the three days, I’ve watched “The Notebook”, “American Gangster”, and “Michael Clayton”. I’d watch anything interesting at home. The Notebook was one of them. It turned out to be a pretty good movie. After watching those movies, if it’s after 2:30 – 3:00PM, I’d leave to go to Chinatown and do whatever there. After around 9-10, I’d come home if I feel like it. Sleep. Repeat.

Summer: Week.1

In Daily Life on June 19, 2008 at 7:26 PM

Well, summer is finally here. So far, it’s been pretty boring. I always wake up at around friggin’ 9-10AM. I can never seem to sleep past 10AM. After I wake, I either go microwave myself some Eggo’s or watch anime. I finally finished Guren Lagann. Right now, I’m starting to watching Honey & Clover, as recommended by Betty. After I watch a couple of episodes of anime, I proceed to going out to do what I think of doing. Usually, I head out to Chinatown and meet up the people doing Beacon. I did that on Tuesday, where I went to Helen Wills to tag along with Angela’s group, then An Duc’s group. After, we usually go buy stuff to eat. On Wednesday, I stayed home to watch “The Notebook”. Yes, it is my first time. That movie IS pretty good. Haha. After “The Notebook”, I went to church to practice drumming, then went to Ma’s to eat some dim sum. After the nice and yummy dish of dim sum, I went to meet up Kenny at GJL, then the Beacon people came out. Tony came and we then proceeded to go to the basketball game. Lost by 7 point omg! Went back to Chinatown to eat dinner @ D&A. Home. Then today… so far I watched 4 episodes of Honey & Clover. It’s pretty good. I’m still deciding whether I should go out to Chinatown right now or go to Sunset..

End of High School

In Daily Life, Inside My Head, Special Events on June 14, 2008 at 7:22 PM

I just had my graduation two days ago. How did I feel? Surprisingly, I had no feelings for it. I was neither sad or happy. I basically felt indifferent. The only feeling I remembered feeling was feeling annoyed that Mr. Wing was so stupid. It kinda sucks knowing that high school is over. No more  going to school, saying hey to people early in the morning. No more watching people playing basketball at lunch. No more chilling at Mr. Ring’s after school, playing hours of MJ. I’m gonna miss people. There’s no doubt about that. I’m sure I’ll see all the people I’ll miss though because if I’m gonna miss them, I’m sure we’d hang out some time in life. I still owe David Chan a toss and a dunk in basketball. After graduation ended, I felt relaxed. The dreaded  graduation was over. I was surprised to see that no one was crying. I’ve heard so many people saying “I’m gonna cry during graduation.” The pictures were the highlights of the day. It’s gonna be memory etched onto the paper in form of pixels.

What’d I do during graduation day? Let’s see.. ate breakfast with Jennifer, Betty, Kevin, and Edward @ New Regency ? I think that’s what it’s called. The servings were so small, and the red bean ice wasn’t that good. After breakfast, everyone went home. Oh yeah! We saw An Duc along the way going to the 12 bus stop. I went to An Duc’s to drop down my stuff for graduation and sleepover. Kevin came up to drop his sleeping bag. We all got redressed for graduation, since it was so hot and we were all sweating. We had to cool down. Took our gowns and walked to the graduation spot. Took pictures, went in. Lined up, walked into the auditorium, waited. Name was called, walked up, sat down. Waited. Left the room, met with family, took pictures at Grace Cathedral. Met up with friends, took tons of pictures. Went to Sweethearts with Corey, Amanda, Ben, An Duc, Kenny, Kevin, Karen, Edward, Miffy, Linda, Jimmy. Jenny came sometime later. Hung there for a couple of hours. Everyone left to either go home, go somewhere, or An Duc’s. I went to An Duc’s to chill for a bit, the Kitaro for dinner with An Duc, Kevin, Betty, Angela, Edward, Jenny, Kenny, Ada, Kathy, and Richard. Stuffed in Kathy’s car after dinner. Drove to Kowloon to eat dessert. Stuffed into car again, drove to An Duc’s, then played some American Idol Encore. Amanda and Corey came. Jenny, Kathy, Richard, and Ada left. Played some more American Idol, watched Shutter. TRIED to watch Zohan but it sounded weird. Slept at 4:30AM. Everyone woke up at like 10. Hung around, then went to eat lunch with An Duc, Betty, Jeffrey, and Edward at Pacific Court. An Duc’s again, then basketball @ Spring Valley. Visited some old teachers, then left cause some fat lady kicked us out. Did nothing at Angela’s for like 2 hours. Decided to go on a ghost hunt since it’s Friday the 13th. Walked to Cuhan theatre and Geary and Taylor. Nothing, but it looked freaky on the outside. It was locked. Haha. Went to the Marriot to check out what was there and we got free “Yo Yo’s”. It looks like a rubber band with noodles on the end of it. Took the bus to Sutter and Octavia to see Queen Anne’s Hotel. Nothing again cause we didn’t think the hotel would let us into room 410. Walked to J-town. They decided to go to the Army Hospital. I decided to go home since I was so tired from sleeping for only 2 hours. The end. Haha.

End of the Line

In Daily Life, Inside My Head, Music on June 8, 2008 at 4:48 AM

Whoa. The school year’s coming to an end already. I could remember like it was yesterday when I was thinking five more months of school was long. Is it me or does all this senior stuff seem unreal? The thought of walking through the stage, receiving my paper that tells me I’m not allowed in high school anymore, and then going on with my life seems … odd. I’m really gonna miss all the friends I’ve made and also all the friends I could’ve made. I regret not being more outgoing and social during the first two years of high school. I was your typical quiet asian that wouldn’t want to have anything to do with you unless you spoke to me. I went home almost everyday after school because I don’t see the point of staying out. After sophomore year, I became more social. Sigh…

Well enough about the end of the year crap. What did I do today? I woke up at 7:45AM to take a shower since I went home at 12:45 yesterday. I don’t like taking showers late at night so … I went to sleep without showering. Eww, right? Well after I showered, I got dressed and walked to the bart station. Barted to Chinatown, then went to chuch to have my Daycamp Leader Orientation at 9:00AM. I got there at 9:10AM so.. oops? Haha. There was no bus! Had the orientation until like 1:15PM. Hung around and started making this pop up card until 2:30PM. Walked to the Salvation Army gym to have basketball practice until 5. Went to eat at Ma’s, then went to Kenny’s house to scan Seward’s picture from prom. Spent two darn hours uninstalling Kenny’s old printer, installing his new printer, and trying to figure out how to work Kenny’s scan function on his new state-of-the-art printer. I fell asleep. Haha. Then .. I went home because I was tired. (:

Here’s some new songs that I’m addicted to.

Crisis Response Network

In Daily Life, Inside My Head on June 1, 2008 at 6:57 AM

So Friday was peace day, I assume. During Ms. Morrison’s class, these three dudes came in to talk to us about teenage violence. They were pretty cool. One was black, another was Vietnamese?, and the last one was Filipino?. I don’t really know why, but I respected everything they said.

They talked about how theres a lot of violence between youths over drugs, gangs, etc. They promoted their various ways of helping youths, like driving people home when they’re drunk, or escorting people. It seemed kinda weird since they had this service called “Safe Passage”, which means if a gang is out to get you, they can drive in a van to pick you up and drop you off at a certain location because they’re a respected group and gangs wouldn’t  target the CRN(Crisis Response Network). They seem like the perfect group to have because they do everything a “cool adult” would. Drive you home when you’re drunk and you got no money to call the cab, escort you, talk conflicts out. Well, peace day. Whoooo.

Lowell Prom: Before & After

In Daily Life, Special Events on May 27, 2008 at 5:16 AM

Before:

It was just like any other Sunday. I wake up early in the morning to go to church. Had Sunday school, then walked to Downtown to take the 30. The stupid buses kept skipping the bus stops because the buses were full. Darn asians. Got off at Brannan, then walked to Hoogasians to pick up Seward & Betty’s corsage and stuff. Man were the flowers nice. I should’ve picked it for my prom instead! Haha! I’m just kidding, Seward. Walked back to the 30 bus, then took the bus to head to the hotel. Seward ended up on the same bus as me somehow. Got off at Chinatown, walked down to Hilton to check into the hotel. We laid our stuff stuff, then he started watching TV. I haven’t eaten anything at all at that time so I ran out to grab some food. Came back and watched TV with Seward. People slowly started to arrive to get ready. People that came: Angela, Betty, Kevin, Kenny, Jennifer, Annie, An Duc, Sabrina. If I forgot you, I am so sorry! People got ready, then we all went to eat. I walked to Downtown, took the metro to Civic Center, then walked to the restaurant. Man was that a long walk. Ate Ate Ate. After we ate, we walked to City Hall. Along the way, the homelesses on the streets would ask us for money. We just ate … we didn’t have money. Also along the way, we would take pictures. I guess I was the designated photographer, right Annie? Stayed with them until they left, then me and Sabrina took the metro to Downtown to meet up Edward. Walked to 7/11, then the 30 bus to take to Chinatown. I was supposed to buy snacks for the group but Walgreens was closed. We then walked to D&A because Edward had to use the bathroom, then Sam’s Burger for him to buy dinner. Went to a liquor store to buy snacks, then back to the hotel to play Singstar. At around 11:30PM, we left to hotel to meet the group back up again. After the prom ended, they slowly came out. Waited until around 12:20AM, walked to the metro with the group, who are now: Kenny, Connie, Angela, Betty, Seward, Kevin, Edward, Sabrina, Me. Bussed back to the hotel. Played Singstar and random games. An Duc and Annie came back at around 2:00AM? Slept at around 5:30AM. From 5:30AM – 9:30AM, no one really knows exactly what happened, but random stuff happened during that time.

After:

Woke up at around 9:30AM. I only had about 1.5 hrs of sleep tops! Boo! Walked up to Chinatown and took the bus with Seward, Kevin, Kenny, and Connie to Men’s Wearhouse. Returned the tux, then cable car’d it back to Chinatown. Met up the girls back at Sabrina’s house to look at pictures. Left to go eat Pho. After Pho, we took the bus to Helen Wills to play pickup games of basketball for a bit. Played knockout with the girls and some stupid 4 on 4 where guys can’t go in the key. That was a horrible idea. After that, 3 point contest with Seward, Kenny, and An Duc. Winner right here! Haha. After that, took the bus with the group, who was now: Annie, An Duc, Betty, Seward, Angela, Kenny, Connie, Me, Sabrina. Went to Quickly to grab a drink, then went to Woh Hei Yuen to play charades. Everyone went home at around 7:00PM because they were all tired.

Although I didn’t go to prom, I was still broke. How? Ask stupid An Duc, haha. I’m glad everyone had fun at prom. Seeing everyone all dressed up made me miss the Galileo prom. Oh well. At least the hotel room made me feel like I was at least PART of the prom day. Haha. Lame… I know .. boo.

Cold Sunday

In Daily Life on May 19, 2008 at 4:58 AM

I’m trying my best to update this as much as possible. Man, what a hassle! Well, lets see…

After a long discussion of Lee Hom and Jay Chou with Betty late at night yesterday, I slept late. Woke up soooo tired and sore from too much athletic activities. Yes, I do sports. Anyways, got a ride to Chinatown. Once I got there, I found out that I forgot my phone. I then walked to Downtown to take the bart back to my house, walked all the way back, grabbed it, then walked back to the bart station to bart back to Chinatown. Went to church at around 9:30. Sunday school and fellowship. Lunch at social hall, then just hung around playing 24, shooting some hoops, and eating watermelon/spaghetti. I still have to own Bailey in 24 one day! Got a call from Betty saying they’re at Woh Hei Yuen. Went there to chill for a bit. After much sitting and silence, Kevin, Kenny, Me, An Duc, Betty, Angela, and Sabrina all took the bus to Westfield. Walked around and sat, playing Truth or Truth and random questioning games. Went to Riteaid for some ice cream. Kevin and I then decided for the group to go to Ma’s for something to eat. Ate. Waited for the 12 bus while talking. It was so cold, An Duc’s leg hair stuck up! It was perky! Haha! Left for home. Now I’m here.

What a cold day! Yahoo said it was gonna be 72, but it felt at most 65. It was so foggy everywhere that it felt like late winter, early fall rather than spring/summer. Come on summer! Why do you lag so much!

Recap on Yesterday

In Daily Life on May 17, 2008 at 5:46 PM

We (Angela, Kevin, and I) decided to have brunch at iHop so we got to iHop at like 9:30ish to eat. Done at 10:45. Took the bus to the metro station and took the M to Lowell. Angela had to go to class. Annie soon replaced Angela. We walked around Lowell, then when Angela was done, we left to go to Stonestown. We were suppose to take the M to my house, but we ended up drinking lemonade from Hot Dog on a Stick. Went back to the M stop, then decided to go to Downtown/Chinatown. We took the cable car, but then the cable car got stuck so we ended up taking the … no we walked to Chinatown. Bought some ice cream, then took the 1 to Angela’s. Met up Sabrina there. Chilled there for about an hour, then we went to Helen Wills at 3 to play basketball… then tennis.. then more basketball. Betty, Edmund, and Karen came while we were playing tennis. We stopped when Helen Wills closed at 9. Walked to Chinatown to eat in Hing Lung. Kenny took Karen’s place when Karen had to leave. After we ate, we walked around Chinatown to loiter like we always do. Home. Sleep. Done.

Sunburn

In Daily Life, Special Events on May 14, 2008 at 3:32 PM

How’s the orange and black look? I’ve been waiting for summer to arrive for the longest time. I’m still a month or so short, but I can still do things to prepare for it. I’m gonna bet that I’ll be getting a lot of sunburns and tans in the next few months. As if I can get any darker, right? Any darker and I’ll look like Kenny

It was Annie’s birthday yesterday, but I’m mentioning it today. Karen, Kenny, Sabrina, and I gave her a nice surprise of whipped cream to the face and fresh-out-of-the-nozzle whipped cream to the head and back. She kept trying to run from me and Kenny, but we caught up easily. Trying to resist is useless, Annie :) Anyways, happy birthday loser! Hope you liked smelling like vanilla ice cream while going back home. I’ll be watching out for you during the summer. ;]

P.S. About page has been added!

Back to Pressin’ the Word

In Daily Life on May 9, 2008 at 5:12 AM

Well… since SOMEONE asked what happened to my blog and why I don’t update it(Betty), I guess I’ll start updating it now from now on. Let’s see what happened today …

School obviously. Only 4 more weeks until graduation!

Second period: Langley’s class is killin’ me. So much lectures and talking that it makes me want to cut it, but I never do.

Fourth period: Exam is over! That means no learning and work in that class. Played Scrabble with Jon, Corey, and Tony. Then .. Connect 4 + Othello together with Corey. Then .. Chinese Chess with Corey . Then .. ran to get lunch. Oh yeah! I had to borrow money from Ay Bay Lay cause Edward borrowed my 10 bucks. :|

Lunch: Intramurals. Enough said.

Sixth period: Physics! Wow! The boringest class of senior year. Adrian and I made a bet on who can stay awake the longest. I THINK I just closed my eyes for like a minute or two, but I didn’t sleep. Technically, no one won. We eventually called it off and went to sleep for a bit.

Afterschool: Took the bus all the way to downtown to pick up tux. Kenny went to his Men’s Wearhouse. I went to mine. Man! There were so many people picking it up that it took about half an hour to get it. Had to take the bus all the way back to Sabrina’s house to drop it off. Chilled there for a bit. Went to Quickly with her. Met up with Angela, Betty, and Kenny. Kevin and Jennifer eventually came by. Went to Woh Hei Yuen. Hang around the see-saw like we always do. Home. Here. Done. Woooooo!

CES Reunion

In Daily Life on March 27, 2008 at 7:13 AM

Went out @ 2 to go meet up An Duc to buy his shoes & sweater. We walked around downtown looking for mostly his sweater because obviously, it wasn’t the season to be buying one. lol. Anyways, at around 4:30, we went to Chinatown to go deposit my money into the ATM, then he went home. Being the Quickly addict that I am, I went to get my daily dose of milk tea + tapioca. Met up Betty & Seward after they led me on a wild goose chase. We then went to Four Seas restaurant to have out CES Reunion dinner. It was pretty fun. Got to eat, chat, joke around, etc. The dancing part was kinda weird because everyone was just fooling around. Kevin was the highlight of that part. Crank’d that, then tripped. The dinner ended at around 8:45. We then proceeded to loiter around Waverly St & in front of Sweethearts until around 10. Everyone went to ABC to eat some more. Home. Sleep.

P.S. Being a shortnews addict that I am, I found this really interesting article that made me wonder how people could … lack so much common sense.

Man Drills Hole in Wall, Kills Wife

Patsy D. Long, 34, was shot and killed by a .22 handgun round to the chest by her husband, Ronald Long. Sheriff’s Dept. records say that the man was attempting to punch a hole in a wall to install satellite TV. After several fruitless attempts, he fired a gun into the wall to attempt getting a hole in the exterior wall. Unfortunately, his wife was standing directly on the other side attempting to help him. She was hit and killed by the second shot fired. Normally such a case brings manslaughter charges, but it will be up to the prosecutor after all evidence is looked at. Details about the accident were sketchy until the investigation was completed.

WordPressin’

In Daily Life on March 19, 2008 at 5:59 AM

I kinda gave up on my page. I got too lazy to even edit or update it because it was too tedious to go in to change everything, reupload, and all that. After some thinking, I thought of using wordpress. It does everything for me. Why not give it a shot? This is me giving it a shot. Not much to talk about.

School’s getting boring. After getting accepted to colleges, I just wish school would fly by. I want to be off to college already, doing college-y things. Thing I have to worry about before I graduate?

- Maintain the grades so I wouldn’t get my admissions revoked.
- Finish YMCA hours to get P.E. credits.
- Pass Calculus.
- Do everything necessary to finalize that I’m going to the UC that I’m choosing.
- Take out wisdom teeth. (OUCH!)
